The Giants are perhaps the biggest winners of the off-season after landing Clayton Oliver for a mere third-round pick, while also not having to take on half of his monster salary.
Oliver bolsters GWS' clearance game and overall midfield depth, which has lagged behind other contenders in recent seasons. Moreover, the Giants were able to maintain their defensive depth this offseason after St Kilda shockingly backflipped on Leek Aleer despite reportedly wooing the young defender to Moorabbin for at least 18 months.
With this context, the departure of Jacob Wehr is insignificant. The Giants look set up for another premiership tilt, should their controversial mix of players stay locked in on footy under Adam Kingsley.
