Exciting Suns midfielder Ben Ainsworth is set to miss six weeks after undergoing foot surgery.
The 21-year old sustained the injury in his side's loss to Geelong on Saturday night.
The club confirmed that Ainsworth went under the knife on Monday night to repair the small break in his metatarsal and he is not expected to return until mid-July.
The former No. 4 pick had been enjoying an impressive start to the season for the rejuvenated Suns, averaging 15.9 disposals per game.
The highlight of his campaign came against North Melbourne in round eight, tallying 20 disposals and two goals.
Gold Coast travel to Sydney to face the Giants on Saturday.
