Young Port Adelaide midfielder Jake Patmore is set to miss the season after rupturing his ACL on Friday night.

The 20-year old suffered the injury during Port's SANFL practice match against South Adelaide at Noarlunga and will undergo a full knee construction.

The incident occurred when Patmore landed awkwardly in a making contest during the second quarter before getting stretchered off the field as play stopped.

Power GM Chris Davies confirmed the news on Saturday.

“This is a terrible blow for Jake, who had been developing well after his second pre-season,” Davies told the club website.

“But we know he is a resilient young man and everyone at the club will support him through his rehabilitation."

Patmore was selected with pick 58 at the 2017 National Draft but is yet to play a senior game.
