What is the AFL Grand Final?

The AFL Grand Final will decide this year's premiership winner, with the Geelong Cats and Brisbane Lions to battle for the premiership cup.

The pair of sides met in the qualifying final, with the Cats prevailing by 38 points to progress to the preliminary final.

The Lions were forced to do it the hard way, taking on Gold Coast and Collingwood before making it to their third consecutive grand final.

This will be the first time that these two clubs have faced each other in a Grand Final in the history of the AFL/VFL. However, both the Cats and Lions have won premierships in the past three years.

Geelong is viewed as the favourite to win the game, which is anticipated to be a close encounter.
