GWS forward Aaron Cadman is fully aware of what he's "capable of" in the AFL as he reaches his first major milestone.

Cadman, ahead of his 50th match for the Giants against Gold Coast, produced a career-best performance last week, kicking five goals from 19 disposals to take his season tally to 21.

"That's how it is as a young key forward, every time you kick a couple of goals, everyone thinks it's a breakout game," he said.

"The last few weeks, I've been building really well with my personal game, just bringing down marks that I usually wouldn't. I've got confidence in my hands and everything stems from that."

But the former Pick 1 admitted it wasn't always smooth sailing during his formative years, especially after the club moved up the order in 2022 to take him with the first name that was called out.

"I've kind of forgotten about that now in a way. In my first two years, it was something that weighed on me a little bit. Now I know what I'm capable of," he said.

"I know that I can be hopefully one of the top players in the League. I've just got to keep on trying to show that."

The cohesion between Cadman and fellow forward Jesse Hogan is continuing to reach new heights that should propel GWS forward.

Hogan joined the 21-year-old with six goals of his own against the Lions, and looks poised to contend for a second Coleman Medal.

But the education and learning Cadman is receiving from his partner-in-crime, which most can see on the football field, is only scratching the surface of what he can become.

"Half the time we don't even have to say anything, we know what each other are doing," Cadman said.

"Having Jesse is massive, not just for me but me for him as well. We provide each other with opportunities that you wouldn't really get if it's just one man down there.

"When I start taking marks, it takes the attention off him; when he starts taking marks, it takes it off me. It's a great relationship we have down there."
