GWS coach Adam Kingsley has accepted responsibility for captain Toby Greene's one-match suspension for his strike to Sydney player Isaac Heeney's head.
Ahead of the Sydney Derby between the two cross-town rivals, Kingsley admitted in the lead-up that he "wound up" Greene in preparation for the contest, which ultimately boiled over as tensions rose at ENGIE Stadium.
"The game against the Swans can do funny things, especially when we haven't won in a while. His aggression was a bit misguided," Kingsley said.
"I wound him up a little bit during the week. I need to be better with how I articulate that to him and what I'm asking him to do, being more explicit around the actions that I require. I'll take responsibility for that and be better next time.

"It was an undisciplined act. We need him to channel his aggression in a more productive action.
"I'm not concerned in the slightest about Toby Greene. He crossed the line on Friday night. I don't think it'll happen again. I have full confidence in that. I have full confidence in him. He just lost his mind for a little bit."
Greene will be one of three absences for Thursday's clash with the Western Bulldogs, as key cogs Jack Buckley and Josh Kelly will miss through injury.
Athletic defender Leek Aleer is poised to fill a backline position to combat the in-form Bulldogs duo Sam Darcy and Aaron Naughton.
The pair combined for 13 goals against Essendon last week, and has caused the Giants to weigh up how to tackle the opposition talls.
"Leek's got an awesome jump and therefore may be able to compete up there," Kingsley said of Aleer's potential match-up with Darcy.
"Naughton's been in great form. With the emergence of Darcy, he's been underrated and is flying under the radar a bit. He poses an equal if not greater challenge than Darcy, so we need to manage both of those boys."
Brent Daniels could also be a welcome return to the senior side in two weeks' time after an interrupted season with groin and hip issues.
The Giants have notched six wins on the run, and place themselves among the clubs vying for a top-four slot.
Sitting a game behind Adelaide in second, the last month of football before the finals consists of contests against the Bulldogs, North Melbourne, Gold Coast and St Kilda.
