Hawthorn have invited two exciting prospects to train with their senior side ahead of the 2021 season, with the club looking to finalise their list following the shock retirement of Tom Scully.

Scully's departure combined with the uncertainty surrounding key-forward Jonathon Patton has led Alastair Clarkson to trial North Launceston teenager Jackson Callow and Dandenong Stingrays speedster Will Bravo, per The Age's Daniel Cherny.

Callow is touted as an exciting tall who can play at either end of the ground and could land a position at Waverley as a replacement for Patton.

Patton was stood down by the Hawks following a series of allegations suggesting the forward sent inappropriate messages to women via social media, with the club currently investigating the matter.

There are fears Patton's career in the brown and gold could be over and that the 27-year-old could face penalties from the AFL.

Callow could stand in place of the former Giants spearhead, with the youngster missing out on selection to the league via the National and Rookie Drafts last year.

SANFL side Norwood have signed Callow for the 2021 season, where he will return if his trial at Hawthorn fails to impress.

Bravo will join Callow at Hawthorn training, with the club likely to hold two open spots on their list after Scully's decision to call time on his 187-game career.

James Sicily's ACL injury is able to open another spot for the Hawks, who could place their star swingman on the long-term injury list.

AFL clubs will have until the March 9 to sign players via the Supplementary Selection Period (SSP) or can hold out and select players in the Mid-Season Rookie Draft on June 2.

Train-on players are able to feature in the league's AAMI Community Series, with the Hawks set to face North Melbourne in Tasmania on Saturday, March 6.
