The voting for Zero Hanger's 2025 Finals MVP have been locked in, with two players polling perfect games from the weekend's opening matches of the series.

Hawthorn's Jai Newcombe and Fremantle's Caleb Serong have both been awarded unanimous best-afield outings to open September, with the latter doing so despite his side falling to the Suns.

Serong was a key player in the Dockers' fight back on Saturday night, while Newcombe was a clear standout in Hawthorn's thrilling elimination final victory over GWS.

The next highest vote-getters from the weekend were Collingwood captain Darcy Moore and Geelong ace Oliver Dempsey, who were both one vote shy of Serong and Newcombe's perfect 20.

Gold Coast skipper Noah Anderson was the Suns' top vote-getter from their win over the Dockers, with 13 votes, level with Cats utility Mark Blicavs in fifth overall from the first week of the finals.

Rounding out the top 10 are Collingwood gun Jordan De Goey (12 votes), Gold Coast machine Matthew Rowell (11 votes), Hawks pair Blake Hardwick (10 votes) and Jarman Impey (nine votes), and Cats speedster Max Holmes (nine votes).

Each week of this finals series, four Zero Hanger judges will give 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 votes on every game, with votes in the 2025 AFL Grand Final to be worth double.

Past winners of the Zero Hanger Final MVP include Will Ashcroft (2024) and Bobby Hill (2023).
