Hawthorn defender James Frawley is likely to miss this Friday's match with Richmond at the MCG.

Frawley suffered a concussion during last week's loss to the Giants and coach Alistair Claskson said the 27-year-old is unlikely to be risked.

“We will check that this afternoon, we don’t want to take any risks with our concussion players,’’ Clarkson said.

“That will be determined by the doctors rather than us, but it’s probably more unlikely than likely to be fair.”

Meanwhile, Clarkson said star forward Jarryd Roughead could return from his PCL injury "within the next month".

“He’s started training. He’s back on the track. He’s had a really good rehab to date," Clarkson said.

“Hopefully with a bit of ball work over the next couple of weeks he’ll get himself right."

“Hopefully he’ll be available to play within the next month or so.”
