West Coast and Fremantle could be forced to temporarily relocate to Melbourne when the AFL restarts in the coming months due to Western Australia's strict border restrictions, according to The Age's Sam McClure.
McClure reports that these restrictions are the latest "stumbling block" for clubs as they work out any issues and finalise plans to officially restart the season.
Border restrictions were discussed on Monday in meeting between states, with South Australia expected to lift their restrictions in the coming weeks, while Western Australia's controls are expected to remain strict.
It would see the two WA clubs relocate to Victoria for the start of the season. The two clubs will then likely play a block of games against Melbourne clubs before returning to WA.
Clubs are still unable to train in more than groups of two under current 'Stage A' restrictions, which could be eased to 'Stage B' if Victoria come out of a state of emergency on Monday.
'Stage B' restrictions will allow groups of 10 to train with no physical contact.
