GWS star Finn Callaghan has sustained a minor shoulder dislocation following an injury concern in the Giants' loss to Fremantle on Saturday.
The prized re-signing sat out the final 13 minutes of action in the 34-point defeat after playing a solid role in the middle, recording seven clearances from 24 possessions.
It is a small setback for the midfielder who turned down rival interest at the beginning of the season to remain in orange and charcoal signing a four-year contract extension until 2029.
GWS coach Adam Kingsley had said post-game that Callaghan was in "a fair bit of pain" throughout the contest but managed to play through the discomfort, although was wary that scans the following day may reveal a more serious concern.
"He said he's a bit of pain, but he's pretty tough," Kingsley said.
"He's pretty resilient. So hopefully there's not a lot of damage."
Scans on Sunday have revealed a positive outcome for the 22-year-old, demonstrating a minor shoulder dislocation.
While a timeline for recovery is yet to be determined, Callaghan will avoid surgery and is not expected to be sidelined for more than a short-term period.
A timeline or extent reveal for Toby McMullin has also yet to be revealed after the 20-year-old suffered an adductor injury in the Dockers clash.
McMullin was subbed off due to the injury at halftime.
The young midfielder has played in six consecutive games this season after beginning the year on the fringe due to being suspended for the opening two rounds of 2025 for his involvement in GWS' Wacky Wednesday scandal in last year's offseason.
