GWS forward Jake Stringer is set for a spell on the sidelines with a fresh hamstring concern that abruptly ended his Sunday outing against Geelong over the weekend.
Stringer was subbed out of the four-point win over the Cats due to the injury, capping a promising performance for the former Bulldog and Bomber as he booted two goals in the opening term.
The veteran Giant came from the field midway through the second quarter and was quickly ruled out of returning, with the Giants confirming another hamstring issue for the livewire forward.
Speaking after the match, coach Adam Kingsley said his new recruit is facing "a short period of time" out of action.
"Unfortunately, Jake did his hamstring," Kingsley said.
"It looks like he'll be out for a short period of time.... I haven't met with our medical team, but we subbed him out straight away. I don't know how long (he'll miss)."
Stringer has a well-documented history of soft-tissue setbacks over the latter half of his career, having seen a delay to his first season with GWS due to hamstring tightness.
GWS took a cautious approach with the powerful forward, who made his club debut in Round 3 against Hawthorn.
Stringer has played more than 19 matches in a single year just once since the end of the 2018 campaign - his first with Essendon. He managed a 23-game season last year with the Bombers before seeking a move to New South Wales.
Kingsley was also confident fellow forward Toby Greene pulled up fine after an ankle concern in the second half of the win over the Cats.
