Gold Coast has prepared a secondary bid for Brisbane's football boss Danny Daly, in the hope of luring him south.
Daly has been with the Lions since 2014, and has largely been seen as the architect of the club, committing to multiple roles.
He spent time as an assistant before moving into the general manager of football, which helped sign two-time premiership coach Chris Fagan.
But the Suns have their own link to the mastermind, who spent five years with Damien Hardwick at Richmond. Hardwick attempted to steal Daly when he first landed on the Gold Coast.
Gold Coast is making a bold pitch to poach @brisbanelions football boss Danny Daly, replacing Wayne Campbell who resigned last month.
They had an unsuccessful crack in 2023 when Damien Hardwick arrived, and now they're all in again on the 2x premiership GM of footy.

According to Channel 9's Tom Morris, Daly is "seriously considering the prospect" of a switch to replace Wayne Campbell, who departed at season's end for an opportunity in Sydney.
It would be a massive blow to the Lions off the back of a second consecutive premiership, who saw Greg Swann take up a position at the AFL and Stuart Dew return to Port Adelaide.
The Suns' interest comes as the football mastermind has been linked with senior coaching, and was flagged as a candidate for the Melbourne coaching role, which was recently filled by Steven King.
Brisbane coach Chris Fagan says he'd "be chairing him out of the place" if an opportunity arose for Daly to sit in the hot seat

"Obviously, I do [think Danny Daly would be a good senior coach]," Fagan said in August.
"He's been a fantastic help to me from the day I arrived here at this football club. We're like brothers, I reckon, we talk a lot about football.
"I know he's got that capacity inside him to do it, if that's what he wants to do. But that's completely up to Danny and others who make those sorts of decisions."
Other than the Suns attempting to fill their football boss role, which is currently being held by list boss Craig Cameron in the interim, St Kilda and Port Adelaide are also on the lookout following their pair of departures.
David Misson (new opportunities) and Chris Davies (Carlton) left their post in recent weeks.
St Kilda coach Ross Lyon is holding down the fort in Moorabbin, while Jimmy Bartel swiftly denied the Power's advances following Davies' departure to Ikon Park.
