GWS have extended Harry Himmelberg's contract until the end of the 2023 season, with the 22-year-old signing a four-year deal.

“Harry is an outstanding young player and has quickly established himself as a popular and important member of our playing group,” GWS List Manager Jason McCartney told gwsgiants.com.au.

“He works hard to get the best out of himself and we’re really excited about where he can take his football over the coming years.”

Himmelberg has 42 games and 39 goals to his name since making his debut in round 17, 2016, after playing at both ends of the ground.

“I’ve loved my time at the club so far and I was really keen to sign a long-term deal to stay,” Himmelberg told the club's website.

“I’m proud to be a GIANT and really excited about what this group can achieve together over the coming years.

“I’m really glad to re-sign early in the season and now just can’t wait to take on the Tigers this weekend.”

Himmelberg came of age in the 2017 Preliminary Final, booting a career-high four goals in the Giants' loss to Richmond.

The two sides face each other this weekend at Giants Stadium at 4.35pm.
