Preview

The Eagles are coming off one of the most exciting finals wins in history, with Luke Shuey nailing a goal after the siren in the second period of extra time to defeat the Power.

West Coast are full of confidence and will believe they can beat anyone. However, history shows us, teams who lose in the qualifying final very rarely lose the following week.

But the Eagles have a great chance to knock the Giants off this week, given the side's injuries to key personnel.

Ruckman Shane Mumford and forward Jeremy Cameron will both miss the rest of the season. But if the Giants have shown us anything this season, it's that they are a resilient group and can cover injuries to key players.

Veteran Steve Johnson is considered a very good chance to regain his place in the side, while Dawson Simpson is the obvious choice to replace Mumford.

Rumours have been circulating all week that Adam Simpson could swing a surprise and include Nic Naitanui for his first game of the season. However, the more likely scenario is that the Eagles will go into the semi-final unchanged.

GWS has won the past two clashes between the two sides, both this year, an eight point win at Domain Stadium in Round 10 and a 21-point win at Spotless Stadium in round 22.

Despite the injuries and being torn apart by the Crows last week, the Giants still have stars all over the park and should be too strong for the Eagles and advance to the club's second preliminary final in two years.

Tip: Greater Western Sydney by 14 points
