Former Sydney and Geelong forward Gary Rohan will play for the Ocean Grove Football Netball Club in 2026, the club announced on Friday.
The 2022 premiership Cat was delisted following the 2024 season and was unable to find a new AFL club for 2025. He signed with Hampden League club Port Fairy last year, and played 10 games for the Seagulls before injury shortened his campaign.
The 34-year-old's move to Ocean Grove sees Rohan return to his hometown club, with the hopes of elevating the Bellarine Football League side back to premiership status, a feat the Grubbers haven't achieved since a four-peat between 2000 and 2003.
Ocean Grove finished on the bottom of the Bellarine ladder for the first time since the competition's inaugural season in 1971 in 2025, winning just four games.
A club statement expressed excitement for the acquisition of the 204-game star.
"We're stoked to announce that former Sydney Swan and Geelong Cat Gary Rohan will be donning the red and white in 2026," the statement read.
"The Ocean Grove local has been training with our senior side for the past 12 months and has been previously connected to our junior program. It feels only natural that he now officially becomes a Grubber.
"Gary is an elite‑paced, versatile forward who's keen to share his knowledge and experience with our playing group.

"We can't wait to see him out on Steeline Ray Menzies Oval in 2026."
Rohan played 98 games and kicked 120 goals in six seasons with the Cats after 106 games and 96 goals with Sydney.
