Geelong coach Chris Scott has apologised to a female AFL staffer following an outburst after the club's qualifying final victory over Brisbane Lions last Friday night.

Scott called the staffer to apologise on Wednesday and will not be sanctioned for the incident.

“The club acknowledges an interaction that took place post-game last Friday night,” a club spokesperson told Newscorp.

“The club confirms Chris called the AFL staff member to personally apologise for the exchange and the apology was accepted.”

Five days following Scott's altercation, Cats star Bailey Smith unlaunched a verbal tirade at a female photographer at an open training session.

Smith has since apologised and is yet to be sanctioned.

The Cats will host the winner of Adelaide's semi final with Hawthorn next weekend.
