Geelong coach Chris Scott has declared Bailey Smith (calf) and Jeremy Cameron (quad) fit to face Gold Coast on Friday, but there's "doubt" around Gryan Miers (thumb).
Smith and Cameron were under an injury cloud given their minor soft-tissue problems, but are expected to play, while Shannon Neale has also been cleared.
However, it's Miers who may be held back.
"Jeremy [Cameron] and Bailey [Smith] will clearly be ready from a physical perspective and they will play," Scott said on Tuesday.
"Maybe there is a little bit more doubt on Gryan [Miers] at this stage, which will become clear pretty soon. I think it is also worth saying, we don't have a very high tolerance for pushing guys that aren't ready.
"He had surgery on a thumb, he has got the all clear to play, but just because he can play doesn't mean he should."
Scott also confirmed that ruckman Rhys Stanley will be held back, opening the door for Mitch Edwards to debut after an impressive pre-season.
"We are holding Rhys [Stanley] back a little bit, so I can say that he won't play," he added.
"I have really liked (Edwards' summer).
"It feels like, especially for the people that watch us a little closer, it has been a long time coming for Mitch, and Toby Conway I am really confident will get there as well. He is a little bit slower, but those two guys give us room for optimism."
Jay Polkinghorne has also put his hand up for selection after a strong summer, and Scott said he will come into consideration.
Tyson Stengle won't be rushed into the senior side, and will play VFL football before returning to the AFL.
Geelong will head to Queensland to face the Suns on Friday at People First Stadium.
