Young Geelong AFLW star Nina Morrison will miss the rest of the season after rupturing her ACL at training on Thursday.

Scans today confirmed the worst for the number one draft pick and the club will now determine when surgery takes place.

Cats AFL coach Paul Hood lamented the loss of the rising youngster.

It’s obviously an extremely disappointing situation for Nina and the club,” he said.

“Nina is a resilient young woman and will tackle her recovery from this injury as she does everything, with a determination and the precision to ensure she is back at 100 per cent for next season.”

“The club will offer its support and care to Nina as she begins her rehabilitation.”

Morrison starred on debut against Collingwood last Saturday, racking up 22 disposals and laying eight tackles.
