Fremantle draftee Josh Treacy will make his AFL debut in this Sunday's clash against Hawthorn.

The Dockers announced on Friday that the 18-year old would get his chance at the top level, accompanied with a video showing a meeting between him and Justin Longmuir.

Treacy requested a sit down with Longmuir to see how he could improve his game before the Dockers coach reveals the good news.

“I just wanted to see where I’m at, if there’s anything holding me back or if there’s anything I need to add (to my game),” Treacy asks Longmuir in the clip.

“The answer’s no, mate. The answer is you’re in the team this week and you’re going to play,” Longmuir replied.

“I think we need a contest forward of the ball, we really need someone coming up a bit more, which you do really well.

“It’s probably going to be wet but I reckon you’re one of our best ball handlers and even one of our best kicks forward of centre.

“Your aggression in the wet is going to be important, the way you pressure and tackle and your intent to defend as well.”

The big man was drafted to the club out of the Bendigo Pioneers with Pick 7 in last year's Rookie Draft.

Treacy was suspended by the WAFL Tribunal for two matches last month and was unavailable for selection in the AFL.
