The official start of the 2025 Free Agency and Trade Period has begun, with plenty of stars of the competition set to join rival clubs.

Here is every move for the first day of the Trade and Free Agency period...

Essendon have received end of first-round compensation for Draper's departure, currently Pick 20.

James Worpel has officially joined the Geelong Cats as a restricted free agent after Hawthorn opted to not match Geelong's reported four-year offer for the midfielder.

Hawthorn received Pick 39 (band 2) as compensation.

Tom De Koning has officially joined St Kilda as a restricted free agent after Carlton opted to not match the Saints' offer for the star ruck.

Carlton have received Pick 9 (band 1) as compensation.

Jack Silvagni has officially joined St Kilda as an unrestricted free agent.

Carlton received Pick 19 (band 2) as compensation.

North Melbourne lodge paperwork for premiership Demon

North Melbourne will land Melbourne premiership player Charlie Spargo as an unrestricted free agent.

Spargo played 108 games for the Demons, but has struggled to remain on the park since the flag, playing 25 matches in three seasons.

His father, Paul, played 81 games for the Kangaroos.

Geelong lodge paperwork for Hawk

Geelong has lodged paperwork for restricted free agent James Worpel, while Hawthorn will have the three days to match the bid.

Worpel has played 148 games for the Hawks, and has long been tipped to return down the highway where he played his junior football.

The 26-year-old was the Geelong Falcons captain.

Power lodge paperwork for Giant

GWS midfielder Jacob Wehr will be on his way to Alberton after paperwork was lodged.

Wehr was an unrestricted free agent, meaning the Giants do not have the ability to match the Power bid.

The 27-year-old played 39 games across four seasons.

St Kilda lodge paperwork for Carlton pair

The Saints are set to land Blues duo Tom De Koning and Jack Silvagni.

Carlton will be unable to match St Kilda's bid for Silvagni, given he is an unrestricted free agent.

He will reunite with his father and St Kilda list manager Stephen Silvagni. The third-generation Silvagni played 128 games in the navy blue.

However, the Blues, have the opportunity to match De Koning's bid as he is a restricted free agent, but will not.

He played his 100th game for Carlton in the final round of the 2025 season.

Brisbane confirms trio's trade request

Dual premiership players Brandon Starcevich and Callum Ah Chee have requested moves to West Coast and Adelaide, while Deven Robertson is hoping to join the Eagles.

Ah Chee has played 124 games since he was drafted in 2015 by Gold Coast, and joined the Lions in 2020.

Starcevich and Robertson will return to their home state, with the former likely to yield West Coast's Pick 19, which was received from the AFL as an assistance package.
