Former Melbourne ruckman Jake Spencer has found a new home at the grassroots level, signing with Northern Football League side Montmorency.

Spencer, who has most recently plied his trade in the Eastern league with Doncaster, played 38 games for the Demons between 2008-2017 before being delisted by the club.

The 33-year-old returned to his Queensland in a move to NEAFL side Aspley after his AFL career, and would make a one-game return for the Casey Demons in the VFL this year against Carlton.

The Redland product is now set to pull on the black and white with Montmorency for 2023 in what is a strong signing for the NFL club.

"Montmorency Football Netball Club are very excited to announce the latest addition to our playing group as former Melbourne AFL ruckman Jake Spencer," a club post reads.

"Jake has spent the past few seasons playing in the Eastern Football League with Doncaster after finishing his AFL & NEAFL career.

"We welcome Jake to the MFNC and can't wait to see him in action."

Montmorency were home to former Western Bulldogs duo Mitch Honeychurch and Lin Jong this year, however the latter has since departed the club in favour of a move to Mulgrave.

Spencer's departure from Doncaster has been offset by the signing of AFL great Robbie Gray, who has joined the Sharks after calling time on his illustrious career with Port Adelaide.
