Former Dockers and Giants forward Cam McCarthy leaves South Fremantle after one match

The 26-year-old was dropped ahead of South Fremantle’s Round 2 clash and looks to have walked out on the club.

South Fremantle recruit and former AFL player Cam McCarthy has reportedly left the WAFL club after just one game.

After being told he would not be offered a contract by Fremantle for the 2021 season, McCarthy departed the Dockers in August last year and soon headed to South Fremantle.

The 26-year-old played Round 1 this season and was dropped after a four-disposal outing in the Bulldogs' win over West Perth.

According to The West AustralianMcCarthy hasn't been present at training since the season opener, with the club revealing they had received no contact from the forward.

“As always, the club’s main concern is with Cam’s health and we will continue to assist in this area,” a club statement read.

McCarthy joined the Dockers after being traded from Greater Western Sydney ahead of the 2017 season.

The former Dockers and Giants spearhead played a total of 70 AFL matches, booting 99 goals in his career.

South Fremantle are set to face Claremont on Saturday at Revo Fitness Stadium in hope of adding to their Round 1 win.
