Former Gold Coast Suns and Carlton player Daniel Gorringe is set to to appear on the 2020 reboot of Big Brother, according to The Courier Mail.
The player-turned-influencer was unveiled by the publisher as the first contestant on the reality TV show for the upcoming season.
While nothing has yet been officially confirmed, a telling clue may have given it away.
Gorringe, an active social media user, did not share a single post from February 5 and April 8 - when Big Brother's entire season was filmed in Sydney. He returned to Instagram days later but offered no explanation for his radio silence.
Furthermore, an unsuccessful applicant from the upcoming season reportedly told Daily Mail Australia that after meeting with Gorringe at auditions last year, was confident he had 'made it through to the final round'.
The former pick 10 reportedly 'met with the executive producers' after his group audition after making an immediate impression on them.
Unlike previous seasons, Channel 7's reboot of the show was pre-recorded and will air later this year.
Gorringe retired from AFL at the end of the 2017 season after 26 games.
