After spending time at Hawthorn, Essendon and Collingwood, ex-AFL journeyman Michael Hartley has found a new home in the goal square for the Seymour Lions Football Club in the Goulburn Valley League.
Hartley announced himself to the league with a John Coleman-like debut on the weekend, kicking 10 goals against Benalla.
Hartley kicked four in the first quarter as the Lions flexed their muscles.
Speaking with Shepparton News, Seymour coach Ben Davey said Hartley was a 'class above' and said the recruit's 'standard of footy' was elite.
Davey added that Hartley, who spent the majority of his 49-game AFL career down back, deserved a bit of fun with his footy, saying he would be best used up forward for the Lions when not playing for Collingwood in the VFL.
Hartley's move to Seymour was on the back of his close friendship with Ben Clifton and Nick Dundon at Coburg in the VFL.
