A football supporter has tragically passed away at the MCG during Thursday's clash between Carlton and Richmond.
A elderly man believed to be a Tigers fan in his 70s, was among the 74,313 that packed into the ground.
Emergency services were rushed to the fourth level of the AFL Reserve as the final siren sounded.
A couple of people attended to the man's aid, and attempted to revive him as medical staff rushed to the scene.
The Victoria Police confirmed the tragic news last night.
"Police will prepare a report for the Coroner following the death of a man in Richmond on Thursday, 12 March," a Victoria Police statement read.
"Emergency services tried to revive the man at a sports ground on Brunton Avenue about 10.15pm.
"He sadly died at the scene. The death is not being treated as suspicious."
