Although the Eagles have been rumoured to potentially lose key players in 2025, numerous rivals could trade their current uniform for wings and join the biggest club out west. With multiple first-round draft picks and the always-enticing pull of home, West Coast could be big players in the 2025 AFL trade period.

Likely to hold Pick 1 come season's end, the Eagles could also receive Pick 2 for compensation if skipper Oscar Allen departs, while following Round 14 the Eagles also hold Picks 14, 19, 32, and 50, three of those tied to Hawthorn's ladder-position after receiving them in the Tom Barrass deal.

With plenty of stock to deal with and a desperate desire to improve their list, who should the Eagles target in the off-season?

Here are five trade and free agency targets for West Coast to consider this year...

4Angus Sheldrick

Another born and bred Western Australian, the Eagles could lure emerging midfielder Angus Sheldrick with a contract to return to his home state.

Sheldrick has developed into a solid role player at the Swans in 2025, playing a career-high 10 games this season, eclipsing his pre-season tally of nine after four years in the AFL system.

While he began the year as a substitute, his last four games have seen the 21-year-old play full minutes and average 22 disposals.

The Claremont product has reportedly garnered strong interest from multiple clubs as his form continues to improve, one of those being the Eagles.

Sheldrick also has a close connection to CEO Don Pyke through his aforementioned Claremont ties, as well as his current club in the Swans.

As the Eagles continue to assess young midfield talent, the home-grown emerging Swan could be one to swoop on in the 2025 trade period. Out-of-contract at the end of this season, Sheldrick's run of form means he's unlikely to be delisted, meaning the Eagles will be required to use one of their 2025, 2026 or 2027 draft selections to secure the midfielder's talents.
