It is a time of reckoning at Alberton, with the club set to embark upon a new era under Josh Carr.

Port Adelaide has long been recognised for their incredible consistency and impressive list build, but as it stands, they have two options: invest in youth or go hard at remaining contender status.

This year hasn't fallen the way outgoing coach Ken Hinkley would've preferred, but through injury and form, he was able to expose multiple players to the rigours of AFL.

But with no first-round selection (sold to Gold Coast for Jack Lukosius), and the first pick coming at 26, how can the Power improve their list?

Below are some targets that would both enhance their chances of returning to September, but also safeguard their future with local talent that could be lured home.

Here are five trade and free agency targets for Port Adelaide to consider this year.

5Isaac Keeler

Another local product that could be eyed by Port Adelaide in a bid to rejuvenate their list on the run.

Keeler debuted for the Saints this year after being forced to wait since being taken with Pick 44 in the 2022 National Draft, and can be likened to former AFL player Paddy Ryder.

The 21-year-old's athleticism and versatility have seen him deployed across multiple areas of the ground, but he has spent time up forward in the senior side to fill the Max King void.

Port Adelaide could look at bolstering their ruck stocks as they continue to evaluate their current talls in Dante Visentini, Ivan Soldo and Jordon Sweet.

Keeler is the close friend of fellow Saint Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera and could help lure the star speedster to South Australia.

Recruited from South Augusta, the 198cm youngster poses as a Moneyball acquisition, with little downside but a huge upside.
