It's been another year of disappointment at Arden Street, as the Kangaroos have seemingly failed to make any major progress toward a potential finals campaign in the near future.
North Melbourne had an active 2024 trade period, targeting a trio of established veterans on the market, namely former Bulldog Caleb Daniel, Swans legend Luke Parker and Eagles key forward Jack Darling, in the hopes that their leadership would fasten the development of their budding young core.
However, that hasn't exactly happened, and while the likes of Harry Sheezel continue to dominate for the royal blue and white, there are certainly some key areas that need strengthening.
We take a look at five trade and free agency targets for North Melbourne to consider this year.
5Jack Silvagni
The heralded Carlton name could end its legacy in the navy-blue jumper as defender Jack Silvagni weighs up his options for the 2026 season and beyond.
Collingwood, Essendon and the Western Bulldogs have expressed strong interest in the key defender after his breakout year, but the Kangaroos could be a sneaky chance to land Silvagni, with potential to offer him the biggest contract out of the four clubs.
Silvagni's aerial threat would be a major boost to North Melbourne's list as his 5.8 marks and 5.5 spoils per game would lead the club in both metrics.
The 27-year-old would also be a solid fit in the rebuild timeline of North Melbourne, being in a similar age bracket to current defensive standouts at Arden Street in Charlie Comben (24), Griffin Logue (27) and Toby Pink (27).
