Essendon again firm as one of the major players in the upcoming trade and free agency window, while their draft hand has them in a strong position to add more youth or be aggressive in the player movement space.

Holding a pair of picks that will likely sit in the first 10 selections, as well as their future first-round picks, the Bombers have the capital to be creative in looking to strengthen their list.

An injury crisis has also allowed Brad Scott and his team to get a solid understanding of the club's depth, which has shown some good signs this year.

So, with a thirst to return to contention, a stacked draft hand and an aggressive nature come the off-season, who could Essendon target in 2025?

Here are five trade and free agency targets for Essendon to consider this year...

A name that has previously been tied to Essendon, with the Suns small forward likely a target for keen clubs again in 2025 as his contract nears an end.

Rosas has struggled for game time over the past 18 months, with the emergence of Ben Long placing him on the periphery of senior selection under Damien Hardwick - playing 10 games since the start of last year.

The Darwin product has shown glimpses in his trio of appearances this season, assisting three goals in Round 9 against the Western Bulldogs before hitting the scoreboard himself a week later in the win over the Hawks.

Essendon could be in the market for a small forward this off-season, despite acquiring Isaac Kako last November and having ties to another promising NGA talent coming through in Hussien El Achkar.

A more experienced option who can combine as a ground-level threat and won't cost the club too much in trade capital could be an avenue for Essendon to pursue.
