As Port Adelaide captain Tom Jonas steps away from footy at the end of this season, the Power will be looking for the next man up to fill the departing skipper's shoes.
Since becoming captain in 2019, Jonas has led the side in 94 of his 215 games for the club over his career.
Unfortunately, Jonas hasn't quite been able to take his side to a grand final yet but has lifted the side to be one of the stronger contenders for the flag each season, even making the preliminary final twice as captain and looking at a possible third time this season.
So without him, who takes the reins as captain from 2024?
We've named five potential players that Port Adelaide are likely to consider.
5. Darcy Byrne-Jones
The 2020 All-Australian could see himself as captain as well, having accompanied Jonas and Wines in Port Adelaide's 2023 leadership group. 170 games played since his debut back in 2016, Byrne-Jones has barely missed a beat since being in the senior side.
Not only was he an All-Australian, he was the club's best and fairest in 2020. He has also a good ability to play anywhere on the ground, having come to the club as a defender before slowly transitioning into the medium forward that he is today.
He has had a pretty good season in Alberton where he currently averages 13.3 disposals, 3.1 marks and 3.1 tackles. He has also kicked 16 goals in 2023 so far and will most definitely be a key player in how Port Adelaide performs come finals.

Whilst everyone mentioned appears to have the edge over him, a really good finals campaign might just edge everyone else out. Clubs are always looking for players who perform well in crucial games to lead their side.
