The Giants will sweat on scan results for midfield-forward Darcy Jones, who suffered a concerning knee injury in Saturday's elimination final against Hawthorn.

Jones came from the field in the second term after hurting his knee in a tackle attempt on the wing of ENGIE Stadium, with the Western Australian limping from the field.

The 21-year-old underwent ongoing assessment on the interchange before the Giants came to the decision to sub Jones out of the game before the main break.

Jones would eventually make his way down to the rooms with a strapped leg, with GWS later confirming fears of an ACL injury to their attacking livewire.

Jones spent most of his rookie campaign with the Giants on the sidelines with a ruptured ACL in 2023.

Speaking after his side's defeat, Giants coach Adam Kingsley relayed the club's concerns surrounding Jones' ailment.

"Unfortunately he's hurt his knee, and it doesn't look good," Kingsley said.

"We'll send that one away (for scans), and hopefully it's not as bad as what we think it is."

Veteran midfielder Josh Kelly was brought into the game in Jones' place.

Kelly was one of three Giants players who returned to Adam Kingsley's side for their final, with forward pair Jesse Hogan and Jake Stringer also brought back after stints on the sidelines.
