Ex-Carlton forward Orazio Fantasia has returned to South Australia, joining the Adelaide University Football Club in the Adelaide Footy League for the 2026 season.

Fantasia signed with the Blackers after spending time with SANFL club Norwood over the pre-season, before opting to pass on the state league.

The goalsneak had secured a premiership for the Redlegs, leading to his AFL drafting, having played four matches for the state league club, including the 2013 decider.

The 30-year-old's time in the AFL came to an end after he was delisted by the Blues following 21 games in two years.

His stint at Ikon Park, which was garnered via an AFL lifeline as a delisted free agent, followed a quiet period at Port Adelaide under Ken Hinkley, as well as seven years at Essendon, where he played 80 matches.

Fantasia played 120 games at the top flight, slotting 157 goals since he was drafted with Pick 55 from Norwood.

Adelaide University will benefit from the senior experience of Fantasia, especially since being relegated to Division 3 for 2026.

The Blackers have noticed the impact of "Raz's experience, leadership and skill (and) has already had such a positive impact on the club".

Adelaide University finished in ninth place in 2025 after just four wins from 18 matches.
