Brad Scott was given a lenient assessment due to the unprecedented amount of injuries, especially to defensive weapons.

Archie Roberts and Jaxon Prior were shining lights throughout 2025, playing in every game alongside leader Andrew McGrath.

The trio make up a handy combination of defensive attributes as well as good ball use and attacking prowess.

Jayden Laverde, who has departed for GWS, played the majority of the season, but was largely beaten due to the ease of ball movement from the opposition.

The same can be said for mid-season draftee Lachie Blakiston and Mason Redman.

Ben McKay and Jordan Ridley failed to complete a dozen games in the senior side, ultimately contributing to the club's defensive woes.

But one to watch will be Jayden Nguyen, who emerged as a lockdown small defender, which could free up McGrath and Roberts in 2026.
