Essendon have unveiled ex-West Coast football chief Craig Vozzo as their new CEO.
Essendon re-entered the search for a chief executive officer after departed boss Xavier Campbell's successor Andrew Thorburn resigned from the role after just one day.
Thorburn's controversial position and past comments as the chairman of City on a Hill Church saw his appointment as the Bombers' CEO met with widespread backlash.
Thornburn's brief stint at the Bombers compounded an already frustrating off-season for the club, having also seen changes to their senior coaching position and presidency, as well as a number of board seats.
The vacant CEO position has now been filled however, with the Bombers revealing that Vozzo as their new chief.
“I am incredibly honoured to be given this opportunity to join the Essendon Football Club," Vozzo said in a club statement.
"This Club has a rich and proud history and I feel privileged to be able to lead us into what is a very exciting future for the Club.
“I look forward to building relationships across the Club and working closely with the Board, Brad Scott and the executive team.
Vozzo spent nine seasons with the Eagles, starting as their list manager before stepping into the club's general manager of football role last year.
He will begin his role at Tullamarine on January 16.
