Essendon has announced that utility Harrison Jones has penned a two-year extension, locking him away until the end of 2027.
Jones has quickly become a focal point in the Bombers' line-up, playing in multiple roles as an athletic tall.
The lifelong Bombers fan had produced a solid start to the 2025 campaign, but a dislocated ankle in Round 8 interrupted his season.
"I'm really excited to commit to the club for another two years. I love playing for Essendon, and I'm pumped to continue building something special with this group. The direction we're heading in is promising, and I want to be a key part of our success ahead," Jones said.
"The fans' support has been incredible, and I'm so grateful for their passion. Their energy at the games is a huge motivator, and we're all determined to reward their faith in us."
Essendon debutant Archer Day-Wicks has also been rewarded with a one-year contract extension, a deal that takes him to the end of 2026.
Day-Wicks joined the Bombers with Pick 6 in the 2024 Rookie Draft, playing for the Bendigo Pioneers and Victoria Country.
Impressing as a dual-position player who can feature in the forward line and through midfield, the 18-year-old possesses a strong goal sense and raw power, which culminated in an AFL debut against Sydney in Round 9.
Leading up to his first senior match, Day-Wicks played a crucial role in the VFL side, averaging 15 touches, three tackles and found plenty of scoring opportunities.
Against the Swans, he gathered six touches, two tackles, two score involvements and his first AFL goal. His efforts saw him picked for Saturday's clash with the Western Bulldogs.
"I love this club, and we have the best fans in the league. I couldn't ask for anything better than another year at the Bombers," Day-Wicks said.
"Being selected again shows trust from the Coaches, which makes me happy with my effort so far. I'm excited to get stuck into the game this weekend against the Dogs."
Essendon GM of List and Recruiting Matt Rosa acknowledged the pair's importance to the club, and what they are building.
"Archer being offered a one-year contract extension is clear reward for effort. We have been extremely impressed with the progress he has made in the VFL, and now at AFL level," Rosa said of Day-Wicks.
"He has shown a great hunger to improve his craft and works hard on and off-field to do that. We're all thrilled for him and can't wait to see the impact he has here at the Bombers.
"Beyond his on-field abilities, Harry is an outstanding clubman. His energy and enthusiasm are invaluable, and he wholeheartedly embraces the culture we're building. He's a true asset to this team, both on and off the field," Rosa said of Jones.
