West Coast coach Andrew McQualter believes premiership forward Liam Ryan is "heavily invested" in the club amid reports the Eagles attacker could be a gettable target for rival clubs this year.
Ryan is contracted with the Eagles until the end of next year, however was flagged as an attainable option for clubs in the market for small forwards this week.
Despite his contract status, the 28-year-old has fetched external interest over the past couple of seasons, with the view that West Coast could earn a strong return for his services on the trade table as they continue to rebuild their list.
Questioned on the latest trade rumours surrounding Ryan, McQualter said he'd be surprised if rival clubs weren't a fan of the speedy Eagle, however believed Ryan was committed to the cause at West Coast.
"If I'm an opposition club, Liam is a player I'd like to try and get," McQualter said of Ryan. "He's an exceptional player
"If you look at the way Liam is playing this year and the way he trains, he's heavily invested in our team.
"He's probably chasing harder than anyone on our team every week. He's maxing out with his defensive efforts, and we know the talent on the other side of the ball that he's got.
"He's incredibly invested."
Ryan was reported to have interest from both Victorian and non-Victorian clubs last year, with West Coast said to be open to discussing trades for several senior players.
The Eagles did bid farewell to Tom Barrass and Jack Darling via the trade period, with the senior duo joining Hawthorn and North Melbourne respectively.
Ryan has played 110 games for the Eagles since debuting under Adam Simpson in the team's premiership campaign of 2018.
He has played five games under new coach McQualter this year, booting nine goals from an average of 11.2 disposals and 3.0 marks per game.
