A GWS forward has made a major leap toward the top of our rankings after a stellar performance against his former side.

A Bulldogs midfielder continues his consistent season to date, while a Hawthorn defender has returned to the fold following a dominant outing against Port Adelaide.

Who's making the most impact in their new colours? Welcome to the weekly rankings of the Recruit of the Year contenders for 2025, with Round 19 giving us plenty to consider.

8Josh Battle (New)

Battle returns from the cold after ironically dominating in trying conditions in Tasmania against Port Adelaide.

The ex-Saint gathered 17 possessions in wet weather, totalling 10 contested possessions and eight intercept disposals in the strong victory.

Battle has locked down a key defensive post under Sam Mitchell, and his inclusion has created more freedom for James Sicily, Blake Hardwick and Jack Scrimshaw to filter through different roles.

He also featured in the ruck to assist with the duties that are usually shouldered solo by Lloyd Meek.

  1. This weekly junk couldn’t be less relevant if it tried!
Peatling, ANB & Cumming have all had far better seasons than almost all the others on your list.

    Yet another victorian love in!
