Melbourne midfielder James Jordon is set to make his AFL debut against Fremantle in Round 1.

The 22-year-old will run out onto the MCG in what will be an exciting contest for both clubs as crowds return to Melbourne.

The Yarrawonga product learnt the news on Wednesday and spoke on the exciting few days ahead for both himself and the football club.

“It’s obviously very exciting. I am just over the moon that I will be able to go out there this weekend with a great group of boys and hopefully get the win,” he told Melbourne Media.

“Gawny (Max Gawn) announced the news out in the middle of the ground. To have all the boys get around me and jump all over me was pretty cool and I am just excited for the weekend.

“It will be awesome, to have all the supporters and members back.

“They have been starved of footy for a while now and its exciting for them. I can’t wait to run out in front of them.”

Jordon featured in the Demons' AAMI Community series loss to the Bulldogs, collecting 14 touches, four marks and three tackles.
