Delisted Brisbane defender Mitch Hinge has joined Adelaide as the first player to move clubs via the delisted free agency window.

Hinge will sign a two-year deal at West Lakes after playing just three games across four seasons for the Lions.

The Crows and Lions exchanged picks on Wednesday in a deal that essentially handed the Lions a future fourth-round selection as compensation.

Hinge and teammate Cedric Cox were delisted by the Lions this week.

Crows list boss Justin Reid lauded the defender ahead of his arrival.

“Mitch is competitive, excellent one-on-one, has a strong left-foot kick and the ability to play either a lockdown role or use his power and attacking skills to break lines,” Reid said, per Fox Sports.

“He was an emergency for both of Brisbane’s finals this year in a really talented squad and has shown what he can do at state league level, so we really see a lot of opportunity for him at the club.”
