Embattled Collingwood midfielder Jordan De Goey has had his hearing for assault and harassment charges adjourned until mid-way through next month.

According to reports from The Herald Sun, the Oakleigh Chargers product plead not guilty via video link before New York-based Judge John Zhuo Wang on Thursday morning AEDT, yet the 25-year-old's hearing remained brief as his lawyer, Jacob Kaplan, successfully negotiated an adjournment.

De Goey's hearing has now been rescheduled for January 18 where a verdict on his four charges is set to be determined.

The offensively-minded mid will once again be afforded the opportunity to dial from Australian shores.

Given his ongoing legal proceedings, De Goey remains locked out from his duties at the Holden Centre, with the Magpies claiming a decision on a potential return remains in the works.

Newscorp has suggested that the final decision is set to lie with Collingwood's board in conjunction with the AFL and AFLPA.

Still, with the club still in the midst of their first directorial election this millennium, it remains unlikely that De Goey will be welcomed back into the fold until after the Magpies' AGM set for December 16.

Collingwood has confirmed via an official statement on Thursday that they had met with De Goey and that he would "continue to be paid in full while stood down and receive welfare support services through the club."

Although exiled from official duties in black and white, De Goey has reportedly joined Geelong Football League club Leopold in order to maintain fitness during the summer months.

As first tweeted by Krock reporter Tom King, De Goey has called on his links with Cats champion Garry Hocking to keep active whilst locked out of Collingwood.

De Goey remains uncontracted at Collingwood beyond the cessation of the 2022 season and is set to become a Restricted Free Agent once his eighth season in black and white bars is complete.
