Majak Daw has been invited to train with Melbourne in the pre-season but will face a minor delay as the club awaits results of a COVID-19 test.

The 29-year-old will train with the Demons in the attempt to join the club as part of the Pre-Season Supplemental Period after initially joining Northern Football League side North Heidelberg for the 2021 season.

Melbourne List Manager Tim Lamb said the opportunity came as the Demons look to reinforce their tall stocks.

“We are looking to potentially further reinforce our tall stocks and Majak will be given the opportunity to impress during this period,” Lamb told Melbourne Media.

The Demons will look to add height to their forward line following pre-season setbacks to pair Sam Weideman and Ben Brown.

The club will have until March 9 to sign players via the SSP, or can opt to wait until the Mid-Season Rookie Draft on June 2.

Melbourne currently have three available list spots for the 2021 season, currently trialling Daw, Kobe Farmer (son of club great Jeff) and Dandenong Stingrays product Deakyn Smith.
