Melbourne AFLW superstar Daisy Pearce says Brisbane is the team that has impressed her the most so far this season.
The Lions currently sit second on the ladder, making a gradual trajectory over the last several weeks to cement themselves within the top four - and as a genuine premiership contender in 2019.
The two-time Melbourne best and fairest winner believes that there's every chance the young Brisbane side could win their first premiership since their coveted three-peat from 2001-2003.
“It’s probably Brisbane,” Pearce told SEN Breakfast.
“If you look at it in terms of consistency across the year and the scalps that they’ve had.
“Someone might say: ‘What about Rounds 9-11?’, and I’m happy to be proven wrong. But on gut feel … Brisbane’s the one that on consistency are it.
“We just keep wanting more to be convinced, but they’re the team I think, and they can absolutely win it.”
Brisbane are on track for their first finals appearance since 2009.
The Lions finished 15th in 2018, and have had a remarkable surge up the ladder this season.
They face Hawthorn at the University of Tasmania Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
