Adelaide board member Rod Jameson has revealed he was surprised to hear former Crows star Andrew McLeod admit to not feeling welcome back at the club.
McLeod - who won two Norm Smith medals over his 340-game career with Adelaide - said that he "wouldn't feel welcome" back at the Crows on his Bunji and Brettster podcast.
Jameson, Chairman of the past Crows players, has since urged McLeod to further clarify his statement.
“It was a little surprising (to hear of his comments),” he said on SEN Breakfast.
“He’s an employee at the club and an assistant coach to the ladies team so his actions don’t reflect what he said.
“It’s really surprising, I spoke to Andrew (McLeod) and he feels the way he does which is unfortunate.
“If he wants to speak, he should but from our past players’ perspective, we couldn’t be doing anything better from the programs we have in place and the AFL Players’ Association have recognised that for a number of years."
Jameson added that the current Adelaide board were continuously aiming to attract former players to the club.
“He’s a temperamental soul, he’s a beautiful man and one of our greatest,” he said of McLeod.
“Our connection to our past players is enormous – we have father, son and daughter academies, we have 200 seats at every home game where we engage our past players and officials.”
