Western Bulldogs forward Stewart Crameri will miss the next month of football due to a hip injury.
Crameri, who missed the entire 2016 season after being caught up in the Bombers' 2012 supplements program, has missed the past six weeks of senior football due to a hip flexor injury.
The 28-year-old returned via the VFL a fortnight ago and has played the two weeks, however, he re-injured his hip and will now require surgery.
"Stewart Crameri will go in for surgery on hip Monday, he could miss a month," coach Luke Beveridge said on Tuesday afternoon.
Meanwhile, veterans Bob Murphy and Dale Morris are set to return this week against Geelong.
Travis Cloke, Jordan Roughead, Mitch Wallis and Tory Dickson are also all a chance to return to the senior team.
"Its a big positive, but the two most important things is dedication to conditioning and our staff to get them ready," Beveridge said.
"It's the most we've had to select from for a while. They probably need continuity, we like to provide it and when we can we want to back our young kids in."
Geelong host the Bulldogs at Simonds Stadium on Friday night.
