Yarrawonga has played down reports Dustin Martin is set to make a sensational return to country football.
Football manager at Yarrawonga, Xavier Leslie, has told Zero Hanger the Pigeons have not spoken to Martin.
Reports today are that the Richmond champion and three-time Norm Smith Medallist is set to feature in the Ovens and Murray League in 2026. He is expected to play between three and nine games for the Pigeons, and has been training over the pre-season in anticipation of his return.
There has been a video of him training in Yarrawonga, which has seen the likes of AFL goalkicking star Brendan Fevola succeed in a post-AFL career.
The Pigeons are one of the biggest powerhouses in Victoria.
Martin spent 15 years at Punt Road, playing 302 games and is a lock for a Hall of Fame selection.
His 2017 season was one of the all-time greats, claiming a premiership with the Tigers, as well as the Brownlow Medal, Norm Smith Medal, Leigh Matthews Trophy, AFLCA Champion Player of the Year award, Jack Dyer Medal and an All-Australian blazer.
Martin finished his glittering career with three premiership medallions, a record three Norm Smith Medals, four All-Australian blazers and three Gary Ayres Awards as the best finals player.
