Collingwood fell to Adelaide by 14 points, which has led to concerns about their lack of a key forward target and ability to hit the scoreboard.

Jamie Elliott and Tim Membrey were the only key forward targets to hit the scoreboard on Saturday night, booting three majors between them, while Dan McStay and Jack Buller did not register a goal for the game.

On the Six Points AFL Podcast, Mark Stevens named two players who could help out the Pies' scoring struggles.

"More left field thought here, Harf, you've got Darcy Moore and Jeremy Howe, both started as forwards, can play as natural forwards, do you just pull the trigger when they come back, throw Moore forward?" Stevens said.

Daniel Harford wasn't so keen on sending the Collingwood captain forward, but believes his inclusion back into the Pies' side could help out their issues.

"No, you wouldn't throw Moore forward, if you're going to throw one of them forward, it would be Howe," Harford said.

"Darcy Moore is a defender, number one defender, get him back in there, and that will help too, and if you can get Moore and Howe back into the team sooner rather than later, that will just create the ripple effect.

"The Magpies, they're in a world of hurt at the moment, cannot score, and they got away with that win against in that first week."

Harford added to his concerns with Collingwood's forward line, and believes they may have to wait till the off-season to rectify it.

"They've got some issues forward, and they know that, they've been trying to chase a big fish for the last couple of seasons, in the off-season free agency and trade, haven't been able land one, there is talk they'll be going really hard at Ben King from the Gold Coast Suns, everyone will be," Harford said.

"They really lack that presence in the forward line, Bobby Hill's not there at the moment, not that he's a key target, but he's an enigmatic player, can change the game really quickly.

"They're relying on Jamie Elliott in that hybrid role to really be their number one man, and that's not going to last. They are really struggling to score the first two weeks; they just cannot hit the scoreboard, so that's a real concern for them."
