Channel Seven’s Mark Steven reported on Monday that night that the gun forward hurt his ankle during last week’s intraclub after a teammate stepped on him.

“He’s had a bit of an ankle scare, he was at scans today. I believe a teammate trotted on him during the intraclub match on Friday night that the Pies had,” Stevens said.
“He’s had a bit of a test today, nothing too serious. But the Pies say tonight that he will be monitored and could miss Friday’s hitout against Geelong.
“So a bit of a minor setback for Jordan De Goey.”

The 24-year old suffered an abdomen strain earlier this month but it barely hampered his pre-season.
De Goey this off-season re-signed with the Pies on a two-year extension believed to be worth around $750,000 a season.
He missed seven matches last year due to a finger injury.
