Collingwood have filled all three of their free list spots ahead of the Supplemental Selection Period deadline.

The Magpies have awarded Footscray midfielder Lachie Sullivan, ex-St Kilda onballer Jack Bytel and former Essendon tall Joshua Eyre with AFL list spots after successful training stints.

The trio made up half of the club's SSP prospects list who trained with the reigning premiers this summer, joining the club's program in December up until the Magpies' recent intra-club session.

That hitout saw the Footscray skipper Sullivan shine in midfield and add to an already impressive pre-season in black and white, with Collingwood deciding on Thursday to hand one of their three list vacancies to the 26-year-old.

Sullivan has been one the star players in the VFL over the past two seasons, finishing equal third in the J.J. Liston Trophy last year and winning successive Team of the Year and best and fairest honours since 2022.

The inside ball winner averaged 30.9 disposals, 7.6 clearances and 5.9 tackles per game for the Bulldogs reserves in 2023, collecting 30 or more possessions on a dozen occasions.

Bytel and Eyre have also won list spots, despite the latter facing an extended period on the sidelines after suffering a recent hamstring injury.

Eyre was delisted by Essendon at the end of the 2022 season and managed to secure a training chance with St Kilda last year before suffering a hamstring injury.

In a show of faith from the Magpies, the 21-year-old has earned a lifeline after a strong showing as a tall defender under Craig McRae this pre-season.

Bytel returns to an AFL list spot after being delisted by the Saints at the cessation of last year after 22 games in red, white and black.

Former Port Adelaide ruckman Brynn Teakle, VFL captain Campbell Hustwaite, ex-Hawthorn youngster Ned Long and local footballer Sam Sofronidis were also in consideration for list spots ahead of the February 19 deadline.

“We're pleased to offer Lachie, Jack and Josh and the final three list spots to complete our 2024 squad,” Collingwood football boss Graham Wright said.

“The three have all impressed over this period and we believe they will complement our squad well.

“Whilst Josh will spend some time on the sidelines with a hamstring injury, we've been impressed with his skills and what he has brought into our training environment.

“We've had several talented and impressive players train with us over the pre-season and we'd like to thank Brynn, Campbell and Sam for their contribution to the program over this period.”

Richmond, Gold Coast, Fremantle and North Melbourne also currently have list spots free, with the Tigers and Dockers the only clubs weighing up SSP train-on prospects ahead of Monday.

Clubs can choose to keep list spots open for the Mid-Season Draft.

Collingwood is scheduled to face North Melbourne and Richmond in practice matches later this month before their Opening Round clash with GWS at GIANTS Stadium on Saturday, March 9.
