There's no mucking around for recently minted AFL players Roan Steele and Noah Howes (Collingwood), as well as Oscar Adams and Caleb Lewis (Gold Coast), after being named in their new club's VFL outfit following their Mid-Season Draft selection on Wednesday.
The quartet were four of 18 players selected in the mechanism, and will don their new colours in the reserves competition.
Both Steele and Howes will feature for the Pies in their clash against the top of the table Box Hill Hawks on Saturday.
Steele was drafted from WAFL club West Perth, but had spent time at the Casey Demons in the VFL. The small forward is originally from Frankston and will now return to his home state.
Howes will travel east to his new club after graduating from SANFL side South Adelaide. He stands at 196cm tall and will help strengthen the Magpies' key position stocks.
As for Adams and Lewis, the new Suns duo will have to jump on a plane and head to People First Stadium for an early clash with the Coburg Lions.
Adams, who was previously listed at St Kilda but never debuted, was playing for Glenelg across the past two seasons, and was a significant contributor to their premiership in 2024.
Lewis was welcomed to the Queensland club amid a need to bolster their key position stocks, standing at 198cm. He was playing for Casey Demons in the VFL and Dingley at local level as a key forward.
The quartet's immediate selection follows former Collingwood player and now-Essendon utility Liam McMahon, who was named in the latter's VFL clash with Brisbane.
